Valda Lewis

I work for the National Women's Studies Association as the web adminstrator. I made this piece when I was in graduate school (New School for Social Research), studying "New Media& the Internet," and I graduated in 2003.

I am really interested in interactive web applications. I had a copy of the "Gilda Radner Cut-out Doll," that I picked up at a second-hand shop many years ago. I scanned in the images, found a short clip of her singing, and put it all together as a tribute to her.

As a child, cut-out dolls might have been the only dolls I played with. I had "Action Man" (aka G.I Joe - that's another story of course), which I preferred and a few Trolls (remember them?).

I like to see how people communicate via the web, and how communities are being built in cyberspace.
